Great article. Jeff Anderson, from A Place for Mom, sums it up perfectly, saying:  “Sadly, dementia does indeed transform people into shadows of their former selves, but those living with dementia are far from “empty shells.” Yes, the shell may become more and more difficult to open. Some days it might not open at all. But never forget that there is a beautiful, unvarnished pearl within.”

Medicare does not cover LTC expenses.

This article from A Place for Mom is a must read for those wanting to avoid some of the more prevalent and quite dangerous financial myths and mistakes. Let’s face it… money doesn’t grow on trees, so the sooner we start planning, the better…

I recently had the pleasure of contributing to Caregivers.com (A Place for Mom) as a guest blogger during their series on the “Sandwich Generation.”  Let me go out on a proverbial limb for a moment – I’ll bet that if you’re reading this post, you know all about the “sandwich” I’m referring to.  Hint: It’s not a BLT or turkey and swiss on rye…

You can check out my article here, and while you’re at Caregivers.com, be sure to check out the the wealth of fantastic information on the site. It’s one of the best resources available!
