Age of Champions – National Online Premiere!

I don’t know about anyone else, but I complain about my little mid-life aches and pains and whine about not having enough time to exercise (when the truth is, I just don’t want to exercise!). I’m definitely not feeling as young as I used to, and in the past year have started noticing things that had never bothered me before.

If any of this sounds familiar, you may need a dose of inspiration to get you up off the couch. The new PBS documentary, Age of Champions, fits the bill!

These folks are nothing short of amazing and just watching the trailer reminded me that at age 47, I have a whole life ahead of me! Age truly is a state of mind as these champions prove every day. The full documentary can be viewed free online between now and April 28 so be sure and check it out…

What if we could stop Alzheimer’s before symptoms begin? That’s just what esteemed researcher Dr. Reisa Sperling is trying to find out.

Dr. Sperling is the featured guest for this month’s edition of Alzheimer’s Talks on Friday, March 15 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm Eastern.

Dr. Sperling is leading a groundbreaking new study on individuals whose brain scans show plaque buildups but do not yet demonstrate clinical symptoms of Alzheimer’s or other dementias. She will be testing the effectiveness of the Eli Lilly drug solanezumab, which in previous studies has shown might have promise with people that have a milder form of Alzheimer’s.

Join us on Friday, March 15 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm Eastern to hear about Dr. Sperling’s latest research developments, ask questions of a leading Alzheimer’s researcher, and find out how you can get more involved in the fight to stop this disease.

Dr. Sperling is the Director of the Center for Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment, the Director of the Education and Information Transfer Core, Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, Co-Leader of the Neuroimaging Program, Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, and a Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School.

Sign up today for Alzheimer’s Talks on Friday, March 15 from 4:00 – 5:00 pm Eastern.

Alzheimer’s Talks is a monthly teleconference series to help individuals better understand Alzheimer’s so we can be smarter as we raise our voices and advocate for bold initiatives to stop the disease. It’s presented by USAgainstAlzheimer’s and is free and open to the public.

Register today to save your spot!

Thank you for all that you do to bring an end to this disease.

Sincerely,

George Vradenburg
Chairman and Co-Founder
USAgainstAlzheimer’s

P.S. Please note that everyone who registers will be called on Friday, March 15 at 4:00 pm Eastern and will be connected automatically to the free teleconference.

The TJX Companies, Inc., has pledged $1 million to the Alzheimer’s Association and now through March 16, you can help when you shop at Marshalls.

Now through March 16th, Marshalls customers across the United States will be offered the opportunity to add a dollar to each purchase. That added dollar will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association and its efforts to advance Alzheimer’s-related care, support and research – and taking a stand against this disease, nationwide.

This campaign is part of a much bigger pledge from The TJX Companies, Inc. on behalf of its 168,000 Associates and retail division including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and Sierra Trading Post in the United States; Winners, HomeSense, and Marshalls in Canada; and T.K. Maxx, and HomeSense in Europe. They have pledged $1 million to the Alzheimer’s Association in recognition of the massive impact the disease has worldwide.

Every single dollar donated through the campaign will go to towards supporting our vision of a world without Alzheimer’s. Thank you Marshalls and TJX Companies, Inc.!
