A moment of heartbreak…

The other day at Eason House, two caregivers were at the kitchen table playing cards with two of the ladies. My mom wandered over to the table, and one of the gals encouraged her to come and sit with them. Mom looked at her sadly and said, clear as a bell, “Nobody loves me.”

((( Sigh )))

Coming very soon – another home by Health Care Concierge

Health Care Concierge, the company that owns and operates Eason House, will be opening their second group/family home in just a few weeks. The house is located in Worthington, Ohio; capacity is five, and they have three spots open at this time. If you know of anyone who might be interested in more information, please leave a comment with your email address, and I’ll be happy to put you in touch with Tim Mills.

Resource, resources, and more resources

I was completing a survey for the Alzheimer’s Association this evening and was once again reminded of the great work they do and the multitude of resources available on their website.

As an example, there’s a wonderful Community Resource Finder – free and available to anyone. The tool can be used to find resources of all kinds, from elder law attorneys to medical resources, to residential and home health care options. Just enter your zip code, and choose the category you’re interested in.

The resource finder tool would be useful to anyone dealing with elder care issues, not just ALZ families. Do you know anyone who might benefit from this? If so, please share the link. When dealing with these situations, especially in the early stages when everything is so new, any path to reliable information can be invaluable.
