While researching another topic tonight, I came across a resource I wasn’t previously aware of. The AARP has a site called Create the Good where you can search for volunteer opportunities in your area. The site also allows you to start your own service project and find volunteers to help out! What a great idea!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of speaking with Gary Joseph LeBlanc regarding his fantastic Alzheimer’s/Dementia Hospital Wristband Project. I would urge you to read today’s piece on the Alzheimer’s Resource blog and help spread the word. Gary’s project not only ensures that hospital staff members are aware of prior dementia diagnoses in patients, but it addresses the critical need for specialized training for medical personnel, volunteers, and first responders.
