Another Book to Add to the Reading (and Writing) List

After seeing my recent piece on using writing as therapy, one of my Caregivers readers recommended the book Thinking Anew: Harnessing the Power of Belief by Eugene F. Moynihan Jr. & Richard F. Quis.

I checked it out on Goodreads and was sold at “Writing can be an antibiotic for distorted thinking. It clears the mind, provides access to your subconscious and soothes the soul.”  I’ll be picking up a copy for myself very soon!

Wise Mr. Frost

frostLong ago, poet Robert Frost offered this pearl of wisdom:

In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: It goes on.  ~Robert Frost

Truer words have never been spoken. Life does keep moving forward, regardless of what else is going on – or not going on. We all have things we’re dealing with, and the bottom line is we can either struggle or we can simply take one day at a time. Though I haven’t always followed this advice, I’m learning… the latter is really the way to go.

Here are some thoughts on being a caregiver one day and a -not sure what- the next. Going from having a clear purpose, to not knowing my purpose, and not feeling much like expending the energy to figure it out. That’s life, though, complete with it’s constant changes. One day this, the next day that. Some changes are subtle and some are more extreme, but they are all changes nonetheless. Not a single person on this earth is exempt from having to cope, adjust, and sometimes wonder why….
