There was a bit of nostalgia at the office this past week, and it really made me think about mom’s career, the wonderful times she shared with so many friends, and the difference she made in the lives of those who had the privilege of working with her.

We had a nice visit today; she was tired, but in a pleasant mood. Apparently, she didn’t sleep much last night.  Sounds like she gave Shana a run for her money going from sink to sink turning on faucets and playing other mischievous games until 5:30 this morning!  It’s reassuring to know that while her mind is slowly melting away, her spunk certainly remains.

Sometimes, I really have to work to remember her the way she used to be, and I hope that in time that changes.  I hope there will come a day that when I think of her, the first thought that pops into my mind is the “old Marilyn” we all knew and loved so much.

Until then, I’m thankful for every moment of joy we are able to share.  I don’t think I’ll ever tire of watching her face light up when she sees me come in the door. ♥

… Until next time… Carpe diem…
